Welcoming Our New ESOL Coordinator

Riis is elated to introduce our new ESOL coordinator, Ashley Bunk! Ashley started in her role last month, and has quickly and successfully begun overseeing our English classes, organizing program activities, supervising our teachers, and supporting our students. Ashley joins the Immigrant Services team with a background of working with diverse adult immigrants in California, both in the classroom and out. She has taught every level of ESL – in-person and online – and has also worked as a student advisor, placing students in classes and guiding them toward their goals.

She also holds a master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Biola University. Ashley is passionate about helping students increase their English proficiency in order to reach their personal and professional goals. About her work thus far, Ashley said: “I have loved getting to know teachers, students, and staff. I look forward to settling into the position more and making greater strides towards student and teacher achievement.”
