Third Annual African-American Heritage Awards Ceremony Honors Our Very Own Bob and Veronica

Robert Madison (top left) and Veronica Franklin (bottom, third from the right) were honored with fellow community members at the Third Annual African-American Heritage Awards.

On February 28, 2013, Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer hosted the Third Annual African-American Heritage Awards at Riis Settlement’s gymnasium.  The night celebrated Black History Month and the outstanding achievements of those that have greatly contributed to the Western Queens community.  Our very own Veronica Franklin (Riis Academy Coordinator, Queensbridge) and Robert Madison (Director of Senior Services) were honored at the ceremony. Congratulations Veronica and Bob, your contributions to our community are very much appreciated: thank you for all of your hard work!
