This month, along with a number of dedicated partners, Riis hosted a Community Baby Shower with Healthy Start @ NYCHA. Resources and giveaways were distributed to nearly 200 families, providing support to new parents and pregnant families in Queensbridge Houses and other NYCHA developments.
The event included refreshments, raffle prizes, a musical performance from Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band, and more. We were also excited to welcome our Councilmember Julie Won, who has experience as a new mother herself, to speak to the community. We look forward to continuing to build a foundation for positive youth development in Queensbridge and beyond.
