Summer Family Days

Every summer, families at Queensbridge and Ravenswood Houses each host their own Family Day, an event full of food, music, and community building. Riis staff joined residents at both developments to celebrate the end of summer and share a meal with our neighbors. At Queensbridge, the Riis Senior Shakers dance group put on an amazing performance!

During these events, Riis also partnered with NYC Councilmember Julie Won’s office to enroll NYCHA residents in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). This government benefit offers eligible households a discount of $30/month on their internet service, as well a $100 credit towards a laptop or tablet. Riis staff helped to educate attendees about the ACP, and guided those who were interested in completing the application process from start to finish.
