Still, Like Air I’ll Rise: Riis Seniors Exhibit Photography at MOMA PS1

This summer marks the opening of “Still, Like Air I’ll Rise,” a profound new exhibition which documents and celebrates the lives of Queensbridge Photo Collective members and Riis Senior Center participants Janie Edwards, Victoria Heath, Cookie Parker, Dorothy Grant, Shirley Mitchell, Marilyn Jones, Nafisa Mahdi, Karen Green, and Hazra Rahman.

The exhibition was curated in collaboration with Robin Dahlberg and Nicole Rosenthal of the 5 Corners Collective, and will be open to the public until September 23. We are inspired by these stories of resilience, family, and community in Queensbridge, and we hope you can make it to the museum to view the wonderful works of art. Congratulations to all the artists!
