Our Spring Benefit, held on June 5, 2024, at Culture Lab LIC, was a fantastic celebration of community and achievement for Riis Settlement. The event featured live music by Ty Stephens & the Soul Jaazz and culinary delights prepared by Chef Michael Ayoub of Fornino. Distinguished guests included Queens Borough President Donovan Richards and Council Member Julie Won, who bestowed special commendations upon our honorees.
Frank Monterisi Jr., Executive Vice President of Related Companies, received the Legacy Award for his eight years of service as a former board member of Riis and exemplary leadership in affordable housing development.
Bob Madison, Associate Executive Director of Riis Settlement, was honored for his remarkable 13-year tenure and upcoming retirement this summer. During the event, his leadership and contributions, which have left an indelible mark on Riis, were fondly remembered.
The evening was a mix of nostalgia and celebration as attendees gathered to honor these outstanding individuals and support Riis Settlement’s mission.
