RIIS SETTLEMENT CHOSEN FOR 2013 MORGAN STANLEY STRATEGY CHALLENGE

Riis Settlement has been chosen as one of 12 non-profit participants in the 2013 Morgan Stanley Strategy Challenge.  As part of the challenge, five Morgan Stanley employees from distinct backgrounds will work closely with Riis Settlement staff, participants and community partners, on a pro-bono basis, for an intensive 8-week project aimed at helping the organization develop new programming for adults between the ages of 21-60.  The challenge will culminate with Riis Settlement and its fellow Strategy Challenge Participants presenting the results of their projects before a panel of experts in June.   Morgan Stanley is now in the fifth year of its Strategy Challenge, a volunteer-driven initiative aimed at providing non-profits with pro-bono strategic consulting. “We are extremely grateful to Morgan Stanley for this opportunity to work with a team of extremely smart strategic thinkers in the service of meeting the changing needs of the local community,” said Executive Director Bill Newlin recently. “This process will help us approach vital program expansion in a structured, responsive way.”
