This summer, middle school youth in our Riis Academy-Queensbridge program delved into entrepreneurship. They learned how to craft business plans, cultivate partnerships, enhance their product branding through logo design, and, most importantly, foster positive relationships with their peers. The program collaborated with the Queens Public Library in Long Island City, hosting a series of workshops titled ‘Be a Changemaker: How to Start Something That Matters.’ As a culmination of their efforts, the program proudly presented their second annual pop-up shop, where the youth showcased their innovative products and business concepts. Our Older Adult Services program also participated, transforming it into an Intergenerational Pop-Up Shop for 2023!
