Remembering Andrew Kirby

Riis Settlement mourns the recent passing of former board member Andrew Kirby. Andrew served on the Riis board for many years and was deeply committed to supporting our work and mission. He was preceded in his board membership by his mother, Ann, who served as Riis’s board treasurer for many years, and succeeded by his daughter Johanna who currently serves on our board. With such a long family tradition of involvement in Riis, we are deeply saddened by his passing. Mr. Kirby’s obituary was published in the New York Times on July 26, 2020 and provides much greater insight into the life of an accomplished and generous man who dedicated his time to many worthy causes.  He will be remembered warmly by our entire board and staff.
