Our NSTAT team recently concluded their Blueprint 4.0 project, an initiative that illuminated the experiences of young adults from our community affected by the criminal justice system. This project provided the youth with a platform to share their stories and perspectives. By highlighting their unique experiences, Blueprint 4.0 sought to foster a deeper understanding of their challenges and the resilience they exhibit in overcoming them.
Twenty-three participants worked with the NSTAT team and Echoes of Incarceration to chronicle their narratives through film. The participants wrote and directed a short film series released on YouTube on June 28.
The series includes three films: Drunk Driving Intervention, This is Our Land, and Poison. Drunk Driving Intervention demonstrates ways to speak up to prevent drunk driving. This is Our Land highlights the importance of feeling included and deserving of fundamental human rights. Poison exemplifies ways to handle and avert potentially dangerous situations when approached by troublemakers in the neighborhood. You can watch Poison here.
The Blueprint 4.0 project spotlighted fundamental values with the slogans “Be Bold,” “Show Your Power,” “Let Your Imagination Run Wild,” “Keep Your Body Strong,” “Live Life; Respect Life,” and “Together We Rise.” Our NSTAT team is proud to promote these values to elevate the youth in our community and encourage sound decision-making.
