Navigating Your Journey

Riis’s Pregnancy and New Parent Program provides resources and support for pregnant families and new parents in the western Queens community. In partnership with Public Health Solutions, the program aims to improve babies’ and childrens’ quality of life by giving parents and caregivers the tools they need to thrive. Riis’ Pregnancy and New Parent Program Coordinator facilitates access to prenatal care, connects clients to much needed resources, provides education based on client needs, and collaborates with agency partners to understand and provide services to clients and their families.

 

Addresses themes such as:

  • Effectively addressing parental conflicts
  • Childbirth
  • Parenting roles
  • Newborn care and safety
  • Postpartum changes

 

The program distributes:

  • Basic infant necessities
  • Diapers and wipes
  • Pack n’ Play along with accessories

 

Workshops and group meetings include:

  • Breastfeeding
  • Infant care
  • Family reading

 

We offer referrals for:

  • Mental healthcare
  • Early intervention services
  • Doula services

 

Our program also offers Milestone incentives for the following:

  • Breastfeeding for 3, 6 and 12 months
  • Introducing solids at 6 months
  • Family reading Milestones
