This April, Riis collaborated with Long Island City Partnership, Urban Upbound, and the Queens Borough President’s Office to host a Career Open House at our Queensbridge Community Center. Job seekers, students, and residents took advantage of opportunities to learn about the diverse field of life sciences, including careers in healthcare, biotech, pharmaceuticals, lab testing, research and development, environmental management, manufacturing, and more. Local workforce organizations and industry professionals tabled at the event, and spoke about the programs, services, and employment opportunities they offer. Attendees left with new skills to help them get high quality jobs and build a successful career!
