Fall ESOL Tutoring

The fall session of our Immigrant Services’ ESOL program is now in full swing! This semester, we are grateful to have 23 dedicated volunteers who are making a significant impact on our students’ lives through personalized 1:1 tutoring. Roxsely, one of our ESOL students, shared her positive experience with her “amazing” tutor, Amy:

“I enjoyed the dynamic tutoring session, where we practiced reading, writing sentences, and discussing various topics. I focused on improving my pronunciation and learned several English expressions. My reading and writing skills have improved, along with my vocabulary and overall communication abilities. My goal is to enhance my English communication skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, to facilitate my professional and leisure activities.”

Roxsely’s experience encapsulates the mission of our ESOL program, and Riis remains grateful for the hard work and dedication of our volunteer tutors, who are making a tangible difference in our community by helping our students achieve their goals.
