Job Title: Project Manager - Family Literacy
Department: Youth Services

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Project Manager to lead our Family Literacy Program. This program is designed to empower families through literacy and education, fostering stronger community ties and engagement. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing program operations, managing staff, and ensuring successful outcomes for participants. The role includes direct supervision of one ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher, one part-time PACT (Parent and Child Together Time) teacher, and two counselors. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a passion for education and community development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Family Literacy Program, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Directly supervise and support the ESOL and PACT teachers and PACT counselors, ensuring effective and collaborative program delivery.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement curriculum enhancements for both ESOL and PACT programs to meet the evolving needs of families.
  • Track and evaluate program outcomes, ensuring that literacy and civic engagement goals are being met. Prepare regular reports for the agency and funders.
  • Oversee program budget and resources to ensure efficient use of funds. Assist in grant reporting and seek opportunities for additional funding.
  • Foster relationships with community members, participants, and stakeholders to ensure the program remains responsive to the community's needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, progress, and outcomes using qualitative and quantitative data to guide program improvements.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and other forums, advocating for the needs of immigrant families and promoting the Family Literacy Program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably within a non-profit or community-based organization.
  • Proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written) is required for this position.
  • Experience in literacy education, ESOL, or similar educational programming is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and staff management experience.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for community engagement and education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with data management systems.
