A Very Festive Riismas

On Tuesday, December 17, our Youth Services department hosted Riismas, an intergenerational holiday show featuring a lively production from both our youth and older adult members at our Ravenswood Cornerstone site. The evening kicked off with dancing and skit performances from groups of students from Riis Academy-Ravenswood Cornerstone, Queensbridge, PS 166, CS 111, and Riis Kidz-PS 166. To the audience’s delight, the concert included a Charlie Brown holiday skit, a Jingle Bell Rock song, a Let it Snow dance, and much more.

Our older adult center dance groups, the QB Latinos and the Queensbridge Ponytails, joined in the fun as the youth cheered them on during their performances of Feliz Navidad, Mi Burrito Sabanero, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town, among other songs! After the performances, all attendees enjoyed a delicious festive dinner and played games together. Before heading home, each youth participant received a gift to cap off our Riismas celebration.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to and participated in spreading holiday cheer this December!
